Choice and rare plants grown in Gloucestershire

Begonia grandis-evansiana ‘Claret Jug’ – excellent plant with attractive heart-shaped leaves with rich red undersides. Soft pink flowers in summer are a bonus. Really needs a bit of shade to thrive in moist, but well-drained soil. It really is hardy, (plants available in 1.5 or 2 litre pots).

Calamintha grandiflora ‘Variegata’ – great little plant with attractive creamy-white variegated leaves plus pink flowers later in summer. Useful for pots or borders, being particularly good as an under-planting of shrubs / trees, a bit of shade encouraging stronger growth.
